Obsidian operates using a non-proprietary file format known as Markdown, which means my files are safe if Obsidian ever becomes obsolete or I choose to migrate to another platform. Another advantage—not unique to Obsidian—is the implementation of bi-directional links (Appleton 2024). One of my favorite features, however, is the graph view, which displays all the notes in your vault as well as the links between them.
