Hi, I’m [[Austin Brake]] and welcome to my notes! This site is a work in progress. I plan on using it to develop content on [[music theory]] and other topics that interest me. I might also add, on occasion, some ruminations about teaching music from the perspective of both a band director and music theorist.
These notes are published using [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md/), a free note-taking app that I’ve been using for a few years now. Obsidian operates using a non-proprietary file format known as Markdown, which means my files are safe if Obsidian ever becomes obsolete or I choose to migrate to another platform. Another advangtage—not unique to Obisidian—is the implementation of bi-directional links.[^1]
One of my favorite features, however, is the graph view, which displays all the notes in your vault as well as the links between them. Below is a screenshot of the graph view from my private vault (not this one).[^2]
